Every time I look out of the window at the moment I’m greeted with endless grey skies and rain clouds – hardly the most inviting weather when you want to top up your vitamin D. In the summer, the “sunshine vitamin” is more abundant; but during the winter months you’ll need to do more to keep your levels up.
Vitamin D is produced in response to sunlight and plays a vital role in the protection and rejuvenation of your skin. It regulates the absorption of calcium and phosphorus, helping develop bones and teeth as well as cell repair and growth. There’s lots of talk that it can help fight off viruses too, but the jury is still out on whether it offers any protection against Coronavirus.
What I do know from my research into dietetics is that it is essential to protect us, helping to boost not only our immune system but our mood too. To get the most benefit from my new Inner Shine supplements, I have used vitamin D3 and found that the oil version is the best (the powder version is made from sheep's wool and is not as effective because the body has a harder time absorbing it).
For the ultimate skincare boost from the inside out, I have teamed Inner Shine with my bestselling Willowbee Mask & Cleanse to detoxify the skin and smooth away that tired look. Simply apply to your face as a cleanser and massage in small circles for about 60 seconds before rinsing with warm water. You can also apply after your usual cleanser and leave on for five minutes, increasing to 20 minutes as you use it more often.
This is how to achieve inner shine and outer beauty!
DID YOU KNOW: If you wear sunglasses on sunny day it can limit the amount of vitamin D you get. So next time you’re soaking up the sun, leave your sunglasses off for 15 minutes; this way the vitamin is activated and your skin absorbs the rest.
