As someone who suffered severe acne as a teenager, I understand more than most just how debilitating it can be. Breakouts affect up to 80% of us at some point and while for many it occurs when we are young, an estimated 25% of adults are also known to suffer. This, coupled with the scarring the spots leave behind, can leave people feeling self-conscious about their skin.
It’s true that acne can be hereditary, but we can also point to stress levels and diet.
