HOW DO I COMBAT BREAKOUTS?

DOES WEARING MAKEUP MAKE CAUSE SPOTS?

The good news is no, it doesn’t. However, not removing it properly every day will. Cleansing your skin is the essential first step in any skincare routine to remove left-over foundation, dead cells, oil and daily pollutants.

Soak your face with warm water, making sure it’s not too hot as this can actually dehydrate your skin and damage sensitive areas, before applying a small amount of cleanser. Gently massage in a circular motion, avoiding the eye area, for between 30-60 seconds so it can work its magic. Rinse thoroughly and pat, not rub, your face dry with a clean, soft towel.

If you don’t usually suffer from spots but find you do when using a new product it may be a sign that it doesn’t suit your skin so stop using it. Although, the odd spot or two could just be your skin evaluating a new routine.

TOP TIP: Drinking plenty of water won’t stop you getting spots but it does help stop the build-up of toxins and keeps your skin in good condition. Tell-tale signs that you need more hydration are dry lips and papery-feeling feet.
