Fall In Love. It's Good For Skin!

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the great news is all that romance can actually be good for your skin. Here’s how falling in love works wonders for your complexion.

Ah, the first flush of romance; that feeling of giddiness and butterflies in your tummy. But falling head over heels is not only good for your heart but it’s good for your skin too.

When we are in love we are more likely to feel happy and experience less stress – and both of these have a positive effect on our complexion. Added to that, a healthy glow makes us look younger and feel better; it also makes our lips swell and pupils enlarge.

Research shows oxytocin – the “love hormone” – helps to lower our cortisol levels. Too much cortisol can enlarge blood vessels, leading to inflammation, breakouts and dark circles around the eyes.

Did you know that when we kiss our body produces endorphins? I have utilised these happy hormones in my Dream Oil Serum. I remember one male customer who bought a bottle returned a week later to stock up on more. I assumed he’d spilt it while using it but he confided in me, with a big grin on his face, that it had given both him and his wife quite the boost in the bedroom.

No surprise then that around Valentine’s Day in particular we always sell lots of bottles of this particular serum. It’s down to the jasmine and geranium content, both known to help improve the libido, while the addition of lavender induces feelings of relaxation.
