The Story Behind This Hand Cream
I don’t often explain how or why I make my skincare products, but every one of them starts in a very personal way.
I make all my products myself in my factory, and while I’ve been trained in skincare formulation and we have a full lab on site, the science is only part of it. The real starting point is always a person, a situation, or a very specific need someone brings to me.
This hand cream began with Mary Roberts.
I was doing a manicure for Mary when I noticed how dry and damaged her hands were. Her nails were constantly breaking, and nothing she used seemed to help. The biggest issue was that she washed her hands so frequently that every hand cream she applied seemed to disappear almost instantly. It didn’t matter how rich or expensive the product was—it just wasn’t staying on her skin long enough to make a difference.
That made me start thinking differently. Not just about moisturising, but about protection.
Finding an unexpected solution
I began looking at how people manage to keep their hands protected in extreme wet conditions. That led me to fishermen, who spend long hours in the sea but still manage to avoid the same level of damage.
One of the surprising things I discovered was how sand is sometimes used on the hands as a natural protective barrier. That idea stayed with me.
The hand cream includes finely powdered sand as a natural waterproofing agent, combined with deeply nourishing ingredients designed to keep the skin soft underneath. The goal was simple: create something that could withstand water, rather than be washed away by it.
What changed for Mary
When Mary started using it, the difference was noticeable quite quickly. Her skin felt more resilient, her nails stopped breaking as often, and her hands finally felt like they were being protected instead of constantly stripped.
That was the moment I knew the idea worked in real life, not just in theory.
Scent, texture, and experience
The fragrance is another important part of the product. It’s built from real vanilla pod and coconut, with a subtle almond note that comes naturally from the ingredients.
Many customers say they receive compliments on what smells like a perfume—but it’s actually just the hand cream.
The texture is rich, but it absorbs well. You only need a small amount, and it spreads a long way. Because of that, it lasts far longer than most traditional hand creams, especially for people who wash their hands frequently.
An unexpected discovery
One of the most surprising things has been how people use it beyond their hands. Many apply it to their feet at night, describing a feeling of softness and comfort that helps them relax and fall asleep more easily.
More than just moisturising
When you wash your hands after using it, dirt comes away, but the natural oils and conditioning elements remain. That balance—clean but not stripped—is exactly what I wanted to achieve.
In the end, this hand cream isn’t just about hydration. It’s about protection, longevity, and creating something that works in real-life conditions.
