We know you love our Heaven Skincare, but what makeup brand does Deborah recommend? Here she shares her favourites from Hourglass.
I admit I’m an Hourglass addict. I first tried the brand when I borrowed one of my daughter’s palettes and wanted to find out about the other products. I met the lovely Justina at the Hourglass counter in Harvey Nichols Birmingham and she talked me through the bestsellers and told me how a great brush can really do wonders to your makeup, so I bought one along with a couple of lipsticks, eye shadows and a mascara.
I find the range of cosmetics easy to use, they are great quality and are not tested on animals. I think I look the very best I can when I use them; the mineral powders, for example, don’t clog my pores and work really well with my own skincare range. In fact, I tell all my clients about Hourglass and I have even bought products for Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall as a birthday present.
You’ll see from the photos of my dressing table that I’m hooked on Hourglass – when I sit here I feel the same excitement I did when I was a little girl playing with my mum’s makeup. Because I have such sensitive skin I can only use my own products so the cosmetics I choose give me the chance to experiment. I find I really enjoy getting ready with Hourglass; I feel younger, more glamorous and trendier when I can create a face that looks on trend.

Vanish Airbrush Concealer: Because I use my own Silk Skin Bee Bee Cream instead of a foundation, I look for a concealer for those areas of my face that need a little extra coverage. The Hourglass one is not only long-lasting and crease-resistant but it can hide a multitude of sins!
Ambient Lighting Powder: I always carry this luminous powder with me – it captures, diffuses and softens surrounding light, leaving my skin the perfect young glow.
Vanish™ Seamless Finish Concealer Brush: It features a half-moon shape so you can apply your concealer to the contours of the face, especially under the eyes.
Caution Extreme Lash Mascara: Any woman will tell you of the struggle to find the perfect mascara … well call of the search! This delivers intense volume and lift for great-looking lashes – much appreciated at my age.
Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss: Luxurious and long-wearing, this delivers high shine without stickiness. My everyday favourite is the fashionably pink Fortune.
